    Beskrivelse

    The aim of NASPCAN is to afford members the opportunity to share experiences, to update knowledge as well as stimulate the exchange of knowledge and to network. The group organizes biannual international congresses (usually in May), national and other local training events that attract participants from the Nordic countries. NASPCAN also publishes a newsletter about twice a year on this website.

    Membership of the organization is open to all professionals committed to preventing child buse and neglect and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Child.

    Members represent professionals such as lawyers, medical doctors, nurses, police officers, psychologists, researchers, social workers, sociologists, and teachers. The NASPCAN board is made up of eleven ordinary members and eleven deputy members from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, Faroe Islands and the Åland Islands. The board members are elected by members to a four-year term.

    NASPCAN was established at a Nordic conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1998, and is registered in Sweden as a non-profit organization.

    International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect

    In 2003 NASPCAN joined the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN). ISPCAN is the only multidisciplinary international organization that brings together a worldwide cross-section of committed professionals to work towards the prevention and treatment of child abuse, neglect and exploitation globally.
