Beskrivelse

Project description
How do we prepare future health professionals and laboratory technicians for rapid and continuous technological development?
This question forms the foundation of TechLit, a transnational Erasmus+ project aimed at developing approaches to teaching digital and technological literacy (TL) in three technology-driven educational programmes: Biomedical Laboratory Science (BIO), Laboratory Technology (LAB), and Radiography (RAD).

Technological literacy
Technological literacy is a key competence for navigating technological change—it includes not only the ability to use and understand technologies but also to integrate and critically reflect on their application in practice (OECD, 2022).
The professions share that rapid technological advances continuously reshape professional practice, calling for new educational approaches that go beyond technical skills to include critical and ethical awareness.

Purpose
The project is aimed at strengthening digital capacity and resilience of higher education institutions and workplaces. By engaging educators, students, and professionals in co-development, the project supports an ongoing paradigm shift in health education, where technology is viewed not only as a tool but an integral part of professional identity.

Activities
Working across four European countries, TechLit is focused on three main activities:
1. Sharing and discussing existing teaching practices related to emerging technologies across countries and educational programmes.
2. Co-developing learning activities with professional practice from hospital and industrial laboratories.
3. Designing cross-curricular approaches to teaching technological literacy that can be adopted across programmes.
