Beskrivelse
Student well-being is a growing concern in Danish public schools. Commercial apps seeking to aid teachers in well-being work have become commonplace, facilitating continuous monitoring and discussion of well-being in the classroom and among professionals. While critical education research offers a sound critique of datafication practices, studies also show that teachers do possess data literacy skills and use digital tools to productively engage with their students. There is, however, little systematic research into the implications of turning students’ well-being into a selfreported, datafied object for observation and intervention. This qualitative study of the use of wellbeing apps in classrooms therefore asks how teachers and students experience and practice datafied well-being in classrooms. A further ambition of the project is to inform reflexive and research-based teaching that intervenes in students’ well-being in responsible and non-harming
