Abstract
This article explores the struggles of cooperative co-parenting and reconfigurations of family life in the wake of divorce in Denmark. Applying the concept of conduct of everyday life, and with parents’ perspectives in the foreground, the article investigates dilemmas, constraints and possibilities in parents’ changing understandings of themselves, each other and their children’s needs when living with two households as an everyday premise.
Data are drawn from a qualitative study (Marschall, 2014) exploring ten children and 14 parents’ experiences of living a post-divorce everyday life with time-sharing arrangements.
