Personal profile

Presentation

I am a lecturer in the nursing program and have specialist knowledge of patient involvement as an approach to achieving person-centered care and treatment. I have a degree in anthropology from Aarhus University and a PhD in health management and organization from CBS.

My research focus is patient- and user-involvement as an approach to achieving person-centered care and treatment. I investigate how involvement is practiced in different ways in the healthcare system and what impact it has on the quality of treatment and care, patients' management of illness and health challenges in their everyday lives, and the changes that patient involvement brings about for healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations.

I have studied patient and citizen involvement in different clinical contexts, in intersectoral collaboration, and with different target groups - including older citizens with chronic conditions, patients with cancer patients, ethnic minorities patients and their relatives, and citizens with mental illness.

In addition to investigating involvement practices in clinical settings, I pursue practicing user-involvement in my research work and student-involvement in my teaching.
