From 2003-2013, Malene worked as a social worker with children, young people and their families in vulnerable positions. Malene has extensive experience with practical social work in municipalities, including both early intervention and the involvement of and interviews with children and young people. After that, Malene spent almost 4 years at Børns Vilkår, where she was employed as a special consultant.

Since February 2017, Malene has been employed at Copenhagen University College as a teacher primarily in the childcare field - both in basic education and further education. Malene has participated in a research project, focusing on statutory social work communication between case workers and vulnerable young people.

Malene has experience in planning and carrying out teaching, including incorporating new knowledge and research in the childcare field.

In January 2020, Malene graduated as a supervisor in DISPUK, and has since then supervised in various municipalities within the area of ​​children and youth.
